Passion Week

passion weekAs we begin Passion Week, I encourage you to read the Scriptures about our Lord’s sacrificial death and resurrection. In addition, reflect on what it must have been like for the Perfect One to take on human form and then to die a sadist death.

In Philippians 2, we read that Jesus  “emptied Himself …and humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even to death on a cross.” Why did He do this? For you and me to have salvation through His atoning death and eternal life through His conquering death. This “kenosis passage” goes on to say in verse 11, “that every tongue should confess Jesus Christ is Lord.”

May we all profess our faith in Him this week to everyone we encounter.
